You can choose the water temperature. I am very pleased with this unit. The size is perfect for 2 people. My husband wears jeans every day and this machine will hold 5 pairs and 5 shirts with no problem.

Tap Cold uses incoming tap water, which can provide energy savings. For all other temperature selections, a mixture of hot and cold water is used to achieve the ideal temperature for each temperature setting. Enjoy! Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I didn't use it myself. It was installed in my rental unit. The front panel shows you can select water temperature from cold to warm to hot. So it is not cold water only.
