I use 1 pod per load. I washed a full set of queen size sheets. I washed 5 pairs of jeans. And i put 7 shirts and socks and underwear in each load.

I use it at that capacity or less and I use about half as much soap as I did in full capacity machines. I combine allergy free detergent with Persil or bleach for white's half and half. The machine is over the top for getting the most out of the wash time. Really good job. If you recognize what a pound of hamburger feels like or a ten-pound bag of potatoes it would be a bit more than beef and a lot less than the potatoes, not worrying about the type of clothes. Just put them in your arms and feel the weight or if you have a scale, all the better. I also lay the clothes evenly without bunching them up in circles around the barrel so that they wash evenly and help balance the load. (You don't want your machine doing the mambo across the floor) I love my machine. It saves me $200.00 per month in laundry quarters and does a better job than publicly shared machines. It is also easy to move to the sink. Remember to pull up the filters (on the sides of the barrel, and clean them out, (in instructions and easy to do) as it will keep garbage fibers from getting back into the wash. Mostly I would advise studying the instructions thoroughly, as that is precise instruction. Personal ideas of how to use this wonderful machine, may not be the ideal for you. If you follow the instructions step by step, you will come up with your own best ways .
