“My bread machine bread is 5" X 5". Is the depth of the slot deep enough to toast the whole piece of bread from top to bottom? Or does a little portion at the top not get toasted?”

You would have to flip the bread to get it all toasted.

Please try again later.This model has extra wide toaster slots that accommodate various types of breads, pastries, waffles and bagels with wide slots that measure 1.38" x 5.50". Max bread width allowed is 1" and length is 5.5”. When toasting, 4.5” of bread is in the toaster. The bread slots on the toaster are 5.51" long x 1.37" wide x 4.5" deep. Joyce@GEAppliances
