- A:Answer Hi Cinta - A 115 or 120-volt individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with a 3-prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse is required. Q: QuestionHow long is the electrical cord, and if it’s not long enough, what kind of extension cord can I use? (it’s going in the garage)
Asked by Donna.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 21.9 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Garage Ready Performance - Slate
- A:Answer Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. We are happy to help! The cord comes out from the rear of the refrigerator, about 9" up from the floor and 3 1/2" over from the right as you face the front. ~ We strongly recommend that an extension cord not be used with any refrigeration appliances (refrigerator, freezer, compact refrigerator, ice machine, beverage center, etc.) due to the potential safety hazards under certain conditions. However, if an extension cord is used, it is absolutely necessary that it be a UL® listed 3-wire grounding appliance extension cord and that the current carry rating of the cord be a minimum of 15 amperes. We hope this is helpful! If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
