Great question! Appliances that provide cooling, such as refrigerators, have a sealed system that use a refrigerant. It is an odorless, tasteless gas. The amount and type of refrigerant (also called coolant or Freon) is listed on the rating plate of the unit. Thanks for asking. -Mikayla@GEA
