“specs state that it is not frost free, manual defrost. does this mean that the frig has to be turned off periodically to get the defrost?”

Hello Max! This refrigerator is frost-free and does not have to be manually defrosted. It requires very little maintenance. We'll get this corrected. Thank you for bringing it to our attention! LEDA@GE
