• A:Answer The instructions for the installation of the water line for the factory installed icemaker are available in the online Owner's Manual. To access the manual, click on the Features tab and scroll to the bottom of the Features list where you will find a link for the manual. Once the water line is installed, turn the icemaker on using the Icemaker pad on the door. The icemaker will begin making ice once the internal temperatures cool down. -Vikki@GEAppliances

• A:Answer Hello - We appreciate you reaching out! The water filter cartridge is located in the fresh food interior on the left side wall, near the top. It should be replaced at least every six months - a filter indicator light will illuminate on the screen when the water filter needs to be replaced. The part number for the filter cartridge is RPWFE and it looks like it can be purchased online here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/water-filter-for-select-ge-refrigerators-white/3757022.p?skuId=3757022. Q: QuestionI know this has a factory-installed ice maker, but is it possible to pay to have it *removed* so I can better use the freezer space? I do NOT want an icemaker. At all!

Q: QuestionFor the model GWE23GYNFS, how would I turn off the automatic Ice Maker? The table on PDF page 23 of the user manual does not list the GWE model, suggesting the referenced "ice maker" button does not apply. Is this just a typo? How would I turn it off?

We found that in order to turn your ice maker off you have to press the "Ice maker" button on the control panel. There should be a control panel located in the door of your model (GWE23GYNFS). Q: QuestionDoes this model GWE23GYNFS have an automatic ice maker? The user guide is confusing. The asterisk on PDF page 23 says it is for select models only. The table on the same page does not list the GWE models, suggesting the "Ice Maker" button does not apply.
