“The fridge above I bought in Feb and also a replacement water filter it shows and the spec.says it uses (MWF) well the light came on to change it but the one in the fridge is a XWF water filter. Now I wonder if I received the right fridge. NE1 the same”

Hi George - Thanks for choosing GE Model GSS23GSKSS! We apologize for any confusion. This model is compatible with GE Water Filtration XWF (MWF is used on models manufactured prior to June 2018). Also, the XWFE Filter replaces the XWF Filter and is embedded with Leak-Detecting Sensing Technology. This innovation enables refrigerators to shut down the water valve when a leak is detected at the filter. The size, shape, assembly, and installation of the filter remains unchanged from the previous XWF filter. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
