Hi Dana- Thanks for considering our GE® ENERGY STAR® GNE25JSKSS! The icemaker is located behind the ice storage bucket and can be easily accessed to turn off the icemaker. Also, when the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the ice maker will stop producing ice. Therefore, ice should not spill out of the ice bucket. If any ice should spill out, the ice bucket and freezer bin can easily be removed for access. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.there is a toggle switch on the ice maker which is located in the top left portion of the freezer. I can easily reach it to turn it off. I am not using it so have no comment on how the ice does or does not fall.
