“Can the internal water dispenser be turned off. I dont have a water line hooked up to it. It makes a noise like I'm pressing the button for water but I am not”

You will definitely want to turn it off or the pump motor will burn out. Look in the manual to find the pump on/off switch.

We shut off the ice maker and the noise stopped. We don’t have water for it either.

Hi Sherri - Thanks for choosing GE! We are happy to help. The internal water dispenser does not have On/Off switch. What you may be hearing is the factory-installed icemaker in the freezer. The icemaker will make a buzzing sound every 15 minutes when it's trying to fill with water. You will need to make sure it is turned off if a water line is not connected to the refrigerator.
