Hi Adm- We are excited to hear of your interest! Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and resists fingerprints and smudges. This dark matte finish is inspired by the rich texture of stone. The sides, case and accent parts (depending on appliance) are Dorian Gray (dark gray) and handles/knobs are stainless. The Slate finish is the same on both GE and GE Profile appliances so you can mix across product lines.
