They are sensitive to touches except for the Start button. It won't activate by bumping or passing. In order to activate, you have to push the button with your fingers. Once in a while we bump a button or two while unloading the dishes but nothing happens because Start button is not pushed. In order to start, the Start button has to be pushed firmly. It is a nice dishwasher. We are very happy with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a GE dishwasher I bought 2 years ago. Nothing too fancy. I'm not sure if it wasn't installed deep enough into the cabinent/counter but if you are standing at the counter and just bump the start button it will start the cycle. I usually turn off the electric switch on the wall to prevent it turning on. I suppose I could also lock the control pad to prevent this.
