“After having this installed for less than a month, the unit won't start and beeps like the door is open although it's not. Is there an easy solution to this or do I need to contact service to have this checked by a professional?”

The GE dishwasher that was in the house I bought two years ago did this and two repair visits couldn’t figure it out. Bought new GE dishwasher and it started doing the same thing, only a week after it was “fixed” for a different problem. You’ll need to call a technician or GE. Good luck. The company is awful.

We can understand how frustrating that must be. If the dishwasher is beeping and won't start, try pressing start and closing the door. If the control panel responds to inputs, but will not start, make sure the water valve is turned on and/or check the ultra fine filter to see if the flood float is stuck and lightly tap the piece under the filter that looks like a dome.
