Hi Brownie- Thanks for choosing GE. We are happy to provide assistance. The icemaker will make a buzzing sound when it's trying to fill with water. This will last a few seconds and not continue for 30-45 minutes. The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. We suggest to view "normal operating sounds" you may hear on page 30 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-5.pdf - Any other sounds may require a qualified service technician for diagnosis. You can contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
