Hi waytrans - We are happy to provide assistance. When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the icemaker will stop producing ice. Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feeler arm. Piled up cubes in the storage bin cause the icemaker to shut off. Level cubes by hand, if necessary. See pages 16 and 39 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF - Also, the icemaker must be 15 degrees to produce ice. Normal freezer temperature is around zero degrees F. Ice production can be further increased by decreasing the freezer temperature to -2F. Very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice. More food in the refrigerator allows temperatures to remain more stable. We suggest to view the following troubleshooting link to more tips- REFRIGERATOR - SLOW ICE PRODUCTION: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17763 - We hope these tips are helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
