“Ice maker has stopped making much ice. Usually have full tray of ice, now it never gets past half tray full. Checked water filter and water dispenser works fine. Ice maker light is on.”

Hi waytrans - We are happy to provide assistance. When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the icemaker will stop producing ice. Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feeler arm. Piled up cubes in the storage bin cause the icemaker to shut off. Level cubes by hand, if necessary. Normal freezer temperature is around zero degrees F. Ice production can be further increased by decreasing the freezer temperature to -2F. Very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice. More food in the refrigerator allows temperatures to remain more stable.
