Hi - Thanks for choosing GE Model GNE27JSMSS! We certainly understand your concern and happy to help. If you hear buzzing from the refrigerator, it is most likely coming from the icemaker. On models with the XWF filter (many bottom-freezer and side-by-side models), you may hear the sound for 5 seconds about once every hour. It is caused by an isolation valve that is designed to help prevent major leaks from the filter. Check and make sure the icemaker is turned off if water is not connected to the refrigerator. We suggest to view the Icemaker On/Off switch on page 16 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF - We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This also happened to us, ours kept loudly buzzing every hour to an hour and a half After calling the Geek Squad, I found out I had to turn off the ice maker since we don't have water hooked up for ice and the motor kept cycling as if it were making ice.
