QuestionHow do you use the self cleaning oven

- Answer The self clean mode on this model is only available to use in the lower oven. To use self clean, press the Options pad, select Self Clean, and a default self-clean time is displayed. The clean time can be changed to 3:00, 4:00, or 5:00 hours by using the selector dial. For heavily soiled ovens, the maximum 5 hour clean time is recommended. If you wish to use the default time, press the Start pad immediately after selecting Self-Clean. The oven will turn off automatically when the self-clean cycle is complete, and the door will stay locked until the oven has cooled down. After the oven has cooled down wipe any ash out of the oven.

- Answer Not sure of the model number of my 27 " 1995 GE wall oven/microwave but I replaced it with GE model JK3800SHASS in stainless steel in July 2025. It fit perfectly in the existing cabinet space and I love the new appliances.

- Answer Yes, the cut-out dimensions for your current model JKP90DP3BB are: 25 W x 41-1/4 H x 23-5/8 D and the cut-out dimensions for our new model JK3800SHSS are: 25 W x 41-1/8 H x 23 1/2 D. Our new model is just slightly smaller in height and depth. Jill@GEAppliances

- Answer No, wall ovens do not vent to the outside. There is an internal vent on wall ovens. Wall ovens do not vent to the outdoors; they vent within the room. The vent is below the door to keep electronics cooler, improve appearance, and provide a better door seal at the top. Joyce@GEAppliances

- Answer We always recommend you measure the actual opening you have available in your cabinetry. That said, the cutout dimensions that were listed for your existing model match the dimensions listed for the new model. - Answer When looking for an appropriate replacement oven, it's important to understand the dimensions of the actual cutout you have available in your cabinetry as well as the overall dimensions of your existing oven. This model is a double oven microwave combination. It offers a microwave on top and an oven below. The cutout dimensions required for this oven are 41 1/8"(min) - 41 1/4"H (max) x 25" x 25 1/4"W. The overall dimensions are 42 3/8"H x 26 3/4"W. You may wish to consider one of our models with two ovens like the JKD3000SNSS, JKD5000SVSS, or our PKD7000SNSS as their dimensions are closer to what you currently have. We recommend contacting a cabinet company in your area for assistance in what might be needed to modify your existing space to accommodate these models. -Vikki@GEAppliances

QuestionI have a GE JKP86 CFCC microwave/wall oven 27 inch. Would this fit the space? Someone said that I would have to move back center junction box to right top position for the new appliance. Is this included in the install? Can it be added?

- Answer I googled the precise specs of this model and some others that were listed as 27” and this one seemed to have the highest likelihood for fitting the space, as best I could see, which it did perfectly. The others would not have without modifying the cabinet. I would also highly recommend having your own electrician install the appliance, especially if you are replacing an older unit. The folks who deliver and install are not electricians and if anything electrical has to be adjusted you want to make sure it’s done correctly. The cost shouldn’t be materially more as it’s a pretty quick process once the wiring is correct.

- Answer I confirmed my own fitment comparability by comparing specs and measurements of old and new models by visiting www.geappliances.com. This site has manuals to download and other resources. My measurements were not precisely like-for-like but the installers assured me that my new 27” width oven-microwave combo WOULD FIT in the same space of my 30 years old model. “GE always fits like for like.” He was spot on. New model went in without any issues or cabinet modifications.
