A:AnswerI had a cabinet with an old Kenmore unit, which was made by GE, and it fit just fine. One exception - the power cable is behind the unit, and so it juts out a tiny fraction to make room for it. Not a problem. But it fit into our space with no modifications necessary.

A:AnswerHello Meg283 - We appreciate your interest in the combination microwave /thermal wall oven JK3800SHSS and we are happy to help! This microwave does not offer a convection cooking mode. Convection microwaves are capable of cooking by microwave, convection or a combination of the two. In a convection microwave oven, a fan in the rear of the microwave blows air across a heater and directs it into the oven. Thanks for checking! Olga
A:AnswerHi Flocap44. We'd be happy to help! Based on our research, the new microwave/wall oven combination unit that you've offered here will work as a wonderful replacement for your older model. We hope that this helps and that your kitchen ends up looking beautiful.

A:AnswerHi Nancy - Thanks for considering GE Model JK3800DHWW! The oven temperature can be set from 170F to 550F in 5 degree increments. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerMy old wall oven was about that old, & I only measured the top to bottom case. The installation team did an excellent job of fitting the new unit in my space. I had extra space so we had to leave a gap at the bottom, which I can use for cookbooks, baking trays, etc. I will have a handyman help with the wood that they use to fill the gaps.
A:AnswerAbout 3 weeks. :) Seriously, preheating time is not one of the pluses of this oven. It seems to take longer than my old Kenmore model, but that changed the temperature every 1 - 2 degrees of heating and this does it every five degrees. I've learned to preheat way early.
I haven't measured the time though.
A:AnswerNo installation isn't free. Depending on what your power source is that you are working with it is really pretty easy. It's heavy and takes two people to lift it into place but really, I did it myself and it took me about 45 minutes. I'm also in construction so I know what I'm doing. Even though, anyone with some mechanical abilities really could do it as long as you don't need to do anything different with your power source. This oven calls for 30 amps. My old one took 40 amps so I had to swap out breakers.
A:AnswerHi there,

A:AnswerHi Clark,
Based on our research, we are finding that the new model of wall oven is about 3" deeper than the old model. This could cause some issues in installing the new model in an old cutout space. However, should you want to look at the installation instructions, you can do so through this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11109-1.pdf - We hope that this helped! Thank you so much for your question. -MS
