Please try again later.I had the same question and so far this is what I have found: It looks like GE makes a good option, and they may not consider this an HE machine; I may even end up buying one of these, however, it appears that this machine performs in large part like all the other HE machines on the market. The complaints are similar. I think you can still buy a Speed Queen that uses regular amounts of water and has a normal agitator, and I may explore that as well. Based on my research, you need the deep fill option to work properly, along with a real agitator to get your clothes really clean when buying a top loader. Still, there are complaints, but that seems to be the best I can find. GE also seemed to be the most responsive in caring about people's machine problems as I read through the reviews. Hope that helps someone.
