Q: QuestionI am considering a new cooktop and have looked for one with coils but cannot find one. I like the glasstop models but my wife is concerned it will break. Have the coil versions been discontinued and is the glasstop surface cooktops durable?

• A:Answer Do not do it. Never with BEST BUY. It took 4 months to be delivered. It will require a LICENSED and BONDED Electrician to install. The BEST BUY installers were neither. They could not even figure out how to pull the electrical breaker to the COOK TOP that they were to replace. They took my cash for the install, that never happened, and have not felt any urgency to return it to me. If you let BEST BUY install it, and the TECHS are not LICENSED and BONDED, it may invalidate your home owners insurance. Go to a reputable store. Verify the intallers credentials BEFORE making any purchase. NEVER USE BEST BUY

Q: QuestionHow hot should the "warmer" burner on the JP3036SLSS get when turned on "high?" The four regular burners function properly, but the 5th "warmer" burner seems to be too cool. What temp should the "warmer" burner be when on high? Thank you

• A:Answer Hello EJones, Thank you for reaching out. With electric cooktop burners, there is not a temperature range associated with each burner. The burner cycles on and off more or less frequently depending on the setting. On high, it cycles off much less than on low. Other factors that make it difficult to provide a temperature range include: the size of the pan, the food or liquid being cooked, the material of the pan, etc. The warmer burner is meant to provide low heat to foods that are already done and to keep them above a temperature of 140 F. • A:Answer We are replacing the glass cooktop because of chips on the edges. We will definitely install with the metal strips because that is what tends to break. Of course it is your choice, i thought my experience might help… I

• A:Answer We recommend using ceramic cooktop cleaner for every day and deep cleaning. Apply a few drops of a ceramic cooktop cleaner directly to the cooktop. Use a paper towel or a non-scratch cleaning pad for ceramic cooktops to clean the entire cooktop surface. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to remove all cleaning residue. For burned on food soils, we recommend you review the online Owner's Manual. It is available by clicking on the Features tab and scrolling to the bottom of the Features list. -Vikki@GEAppliances
