• Hi Darwi - Yes, Model JP5030SJSS has Control Lock capability to protect against unintended activation. Simply press and hold the Lock pad for 3 seconds to Lock/Unlock. Thanks for considering GE! Sue

• It has a lock button that you have to hold for 3 seconds. I suggest you always lock it after use. if you set anything on the surface, you could accidentally turn a burner on. Or if a cat jumps up. I would think the chances of a small child turning it on when locked would be very slim.
