  • QuestionWhat are the electrical requirements of this cooktop?

    Asked by ArielBoricua.

    • Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out about this cooktop! We understand how important electrical requirements are and are happy to advise. You need to use a two-wire, three conductor 208/240 VAC, 60 Hertz electric system. The cooktop needs to be installed in a circuit that doesn’t exceed 125 VAC nominal to ground. The maximum connected load (kW) at 208V is 6.2 and at 240V is 8.3. The maximum current draw (amps) at 208V is 30.0 and at 240V is 34.6. The recommended circuit breaker amps are 30 for 208V and 40 for 240V. The cooktop conduit wiring is approved for copper wire connection only. Please note that we do always recommend having the wiring and hookup work done by a qualified electrician. We hope this provides the information you were needing, but remain available to help if needed. Wishing you the best! -Sarah@GEA

  • QuestionWhat’s a downdraft installation? Do you need it for the appliance to work!

    Asked by Nancy.

    • Answer Hello Nancy, thank you for your question. A downdraft installation refers to the venting system that is installed behind the cooktop that vents away smoke and steam from food that you are cooking. This type of ventilation system is not required for the cooktop to operate properly, although we do recommend you have a way to properly vent your cooktop. We hope this helps!
