Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Over-the-range microwaves must be installed a minimum of 66" from the floor to the top of the microwave. They can be mounted higher than 66" from the floor; however, the further the microwave is from the cooktop, the vent draw capability will be affected. The 66" from the floor dimension will allow approximately 14"-16" between the cooktop and the bottom front of the microwave. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
