Contact the GE customer service rep using the GE appliance app as I did. I had basically the same questions for replacing my old nonfunctional GE microwave. They gave me the recommended model to order & the correct trim kit based on my cabinet openings. Customer service was helpful & friendly.

This trim kit requires the following cabinet cutout dimensions: Height 16-3/4" x Width 25-1/2" x Depth 19-1/2" or 22".
