• A:Answer The knobs are made of cheap plastic and are not heat resistant, so they melt if you have a pot or griddle too close. Silver finish on them also wears off after only a few months.

Q: QuestionFor the black cooktop option, what is the material? Customers have noted how easily the stainless steel scratches and bubbles despite low, average use. Is this the same case with the black cooktop as well?

The cooktop surface on the Stainless model is stainless. As with any finish, we recommend using a soft cloth to clean the surface. If you have any additional questions in the future. Q: QuestionProduct height is shown as 5-1/2". What is the distance from the counter top to the bottom of the cooktop? How much clearance do I need below the countertop?

• A:Answer Hi there, this is a great question and we're happy to help. To clean the stainless steel surface, use warm sudsy water or a stainless steel cleaner or polish. Always wipe the surface in the direction of the grain. Do not use a steel wool pad as it will scratch the surface. Cleaners with oxalic acid such as Bar Keeper's Friend Soft Cleanser will remove surface rust, tarnish, and small blemishes. Lastly, be sure to use a liquid cleanser free of grit and rub in the direction of the brush lines with a damp, soft sponge. • A:Answer According to the instruction manual yes it is dish washer safe, but I haven't get it washed by washer and I don't believe it works. I prefer to clean and remove oil or grease immediately after cooking.
