Hi BAS - The unit has a right-swing door that is not reversible. For built-in installation, the door should protrude 1" beyond the surrounding cabinets. As with any refrigeration product, there is a slight temperature variance at different locations within the cabinet. See page 6 of the manual below - Wine and Beverage Loading.
