I purchased my unit in summer of 2020 and just put it into a window for the summer and this same issue occurred. These units have a motherboard issue that GE knows about and if you have passed the warranty threshold, you are out of luck because GE will not assist you. I just posted a review warning everyone about the issue and advising them not to buy these air conditioners.

Don’t know why it does that but it does. It’s a shame they just couldn’t have told you that. It prob says it in the instruction manual.
