“We have the JGP5036SL. Can I place a pot directly on the burner caps? With the grates, the pot is so far from the flames that it takes DOUBLE the time and gas to heat compared with my previous gas stove.”

We would not recommend placing a pot directly on the burner. Placing it over the burner would cause the burner to work improperly. Additional information about the surface burners and proper use can be found in your use and care guide (page 6) on the website.
