“Hi, I am thinking of buying this unit to replace my old GE downdraft model JVB98SH1SS. Will the duct and countertop cut dimensions work? I also want to replace my gas cooktop, will this downdraft system fit GE gas cooktop model JGP5036SLSS? Thanks!”

Hi there - While the width is the same with these systems, the height and depth is different. Also, with this downdraft system, it typically requires a separate cutout. However, this vent system can be used with the cooktop you've provided. We hope this helps! -Gina@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy should be able to answer that since they would have duct dimensions of both old and new available. I replaced a Thermodore and had to modify the duct location and add more duct. Again, as to counter cutout, the specifications should help with that.
