“Is only one 220V outlet needed for both this unit and the compatible washer? We have only one outlet in our closet and the w/d needs to plug into that. Also, we are considering going ventless and need the width to be less than 24in. Would this work?”

Yes. The dryer plugs into the wall and the washer plugs into the dryer. (The washer can also be plugged into a regular outlet only the dryer needs 220).
