Hi Needwater- Thanks for viewing our GE Washers! We suggest a model with PreciseFill (Auto Load Sensing). This features automatically senses the load and allows the washer to determine the optimum water required to wash the items in the basket. This model features PreciseFill with the option of 4 water level selections. Average water usage is approximately 29.4 gallons. Also, check out our GE® ENERGY STAR® 4.3 DOE Cu. Ft. Capacity Frontload Washer GFWN1600JWW. The average water usage is 13.76 gallons. Unlike the top loader, the front loader's wash basket is set horizontally, and uses gravity to pull water through clothes. And because the basket never has to fill completely with water, you end up using less water, but your clothes get just as clean. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This washer has the benefit of both the option where you can select the load size or you can use precise fill which is water saving as it will sense weight of the clothes and put water according to weight.
