Answering my own question, in fact it does make the unusual noise from my video. I was able to see full wash load videos on youtube of this model GTW335ASNWW posted by appliance vendors and they present the same loud noise. If you're thinking of buying a machine search on youtube for a video it'll save you the surprise.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The washing machine starting up makes some intermittent noises in getting adjusted to the load shifting initially I believe. It acts likely as a function of load balancing. While unusual compared to past washers I have used, it is not that loud and not that distracting either, after you've heard it a few times. It gets clothes very clean, and uses less detergent doing it. ... And it's made in the USA.
