Hi Buster1! Thanks for reaching out to us! Starting in 2015, top-load washers feature a lid lock that engages when the washer is either load-sensing before and during fill, or when it is spinning above 50 RPM. You cannot set the washer to lock for the entire cycle. Also, if your unit is set to Precise Fill, this would be the unit locking and sensing the weight of the clothing in the drum. The washer bases how much water to add to the drum, on how heavy of a load is in the drum. It spins briefly to determine the weight. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
