“Will I be able to open the lid and add fabric softener directly to the rinse water using the deep rinse cycle? I don't like or use the fabric softener dispensers in the agitator, or rinse cycles that just spit water on the clothes while spinning.”

You can pause the cycle and it will unlock the lid. Then just close the lid and press the Start/Pause button.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Mary, Once you start a load of laundry, your washer lid will lock and you will not be able to open it mid-cycle. This is for safety purposes. Based on what we are reading about your model, if you would like to add fabric softener to your load, you would need to add it to the container within the agitator. Also, if you are using fabric softener in a load, you need to be sure and select the Deep Rinse option. This will ensure that all of the softener is removed from your clothing.
