“Why does the wiring junction box have to be a minimum of 28 1/2'' down from the counter top. I would like to replace my old drop-in electric range with this new GE model but I noticed in the specs that the electric box has to be 28 1/2'' down from the counter top. My electric box is only down about 18''. I would have to have a professional electrician come in and move it down. Is this really necessary.”
