Hey there, we're sorry to hear you have a mildew smell coming from your washer. We can understand how this would get annoying and we're happy to help. We first suggest running an UltraFresh Vent cycle. In addition, there are several things you can do: 1) Detergent Use: Using liquid HE detergent is recommended. Use the appropriate amount of detergent with each wash load. Many HE detergents are concentrated and will indicate this on the bottle. If using concentrated HE detergent, use the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer. Sometimes, using too much detergent creates too many soap suds and excess soap gets trapped in the outer tub which creates an odor over time. 2) Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the tub once a month to keep the wash basket free from soap and fabric softener residue that can build up and cause an odor. For models with a BasketClean cycle: Use the BasketClean cycle and 1 cup of bleach or a commercially available product manufactured for this purpose. We recommend Tide Washing Machine Cleaner for best results. Repeat if necessary. We hope you find this information useful and we're wishing you the very best. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. - Guy@GEA
