A:AnswerHey there,
We're happy to answer your question! Yes, you can use scent beads in this washer. Make sure to add them directly into the drum and not into the dispenser. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Happy washing! Mike@GEA

A:AnswerThe washer has a separate filter for the discharge line on the bottom right of the machine. The small panel comes off with a flathead screwdriver, then a plastic ramp folds down to expose the filter. The filter unscrews from the housing. Water will come out, but the plastic ramp will direct it toward the front, so have a small bucket ready.
The filter is very course, so it traps large debris before it makes it down your discharge hose/drain.
It’s recommended to clean out every year. I went 2 years as it’s just me and my wife so the duty cycle isn’t as much as a larger family with more laundry.
A:AnswerHi there, thanks for asking us about this, it's a great question. We don't recommend our washer sit on any pedestal but GE pedestals. We have not tested and therefore cannot recommend any but our own for this washer to sit on. We apologize for the inconvenience of this. The pedestal for this washer is model GFP1528SNWW. We strongly recommend this washer only be set upon this pedestal. Kindly let us know if we can answer additional questions for you. Best regards. -Kacie@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
This is a great question to ask! When looking at the washer from the back, the water hoses are connected at the top right of the machine. You can view a diagram of the machine on page 21 of the manual and connection instructions starting on page 22. https://files.bbystatic.com/3%2FvTY6tIA8U6BkU58%2Bc4iA%3D%3D/341e7a25-d8f8-48b8-846c-77bb0b27af2e.pdf. A full list of suggested cycles for different fabric types can be found starting on page 7 of the use and care manual, linked here: https://files.bbystatic.com/3%2FvTY6tIA8U6BkU58%2Bc4iA%3D%3D/341e7a25-d8f8-48b8-846c-77bb0b27af2e.pdf - We hope this clears things up for you! -Elliot@GEA
A:AnswerWe're sorry that finding this pedestal has been harder than we had anticipated. The correct pedestal for this washer is GFP1528SNWW. If you would instead like the optional riser, its part number is GFR0728SNWW. This washer is not compatible with any other brand of pedestals and we do not recommend installing it with one. We hope this helps! Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you. -Chris@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, and thanks for this great question! We know using a pedestal with your washer can improve your laundry experience, and we’re glad to advise. Model GFW550SSNWW is compatible with the pedestal listed under model number GFP1528SNWW. We would not recommend using any pedestal other than that one; we regret any inconvenience caused, but the model was designed for use with that particular pedestal, and other combinations would not have been tested for safety and reliability, and may not connect properly at all. We hope this information is useful for you. If you have any other questions or concerns, we are happy to offer assistance any time. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerIt’s a ventilation system that comes on after the wash cycle has ended and you remove your clothes and shut the door. The vent system dries the machine so that you don’t get odor and mold growing in it. You can turn it on and off whenever you want.
A:AnswerHi, We appreciate your interest in our terrific UltraFresh laundry products! Our 7.8 cu. ft. gas dryers have the following exhaust options: 4-way via rear, left, right, and bottom. For our 7.5 and 7.0 cu. ft. gas dryers, they have 3-way venting options via rear, bottom and left. We hope this helps! - Sharon@GEA
A:AnswerHello. when you stack a dryer above this washer then the height is 79 1/2" without adjusting the leveling legs. It might be a bit challenging to fit in a 80" niche. Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHello and thanks for reaching out to us about your front load washer, though we do hate to hear you've had an issue with the rinse cycle being too warm. We know how important selecting the right temperature is and know this must have been concerning. We'd like to assist. You can change the wash temperature by pressing the Temp pad until you've reached the desired setting. You can choose between Tap Cold, Cold, Warm, Hot or Extra Hot for most cycles. Please note that, in order to protect fabrics, not all wash temperatures are available for certain cycles. If you selected a cold cycle, the rinse should also be cold. As you're concerned the temperature may be incorrect, you may want to make sure the hoses are connected to the correct faucets for your household water supply (depending on your home’s set up, the inlet valves usually have the hot water on the left when facing the wall, marked in red or with an ‘H’ and the cold water is usually on the right marked in blue or with a ‘C’.) You can also check to make sure the cold water hose is not blocked, obstructed or kinked at all. We hope this information is helpful in resolving your issue, but if you have any further questions or concerns we are happy to help over social media. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHello Deb,
Thank you for reaching out. Great question! The Speed (Quick) wash is the fastest wash cycle at approximately 34 minutes. This does not include the time it takes to fill or drain the washer. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA
