I had GE service out here once for an odd smell. Smelled like a weird chemical or something… they said it was drywall dust from renovations we had going on. It was getting into our dryer and burning. It’s definitely one of their more common calls. But if it smells like natural gas then you could have a leak and should call a plumber. My smell didn’t smell like natural gas, it smelled more like a strong chemical or burning plastics type smell.
