The power cord comes out from the interior of the toaster on the bottom of the toaster on the right hand side near the front into a substantially rectangular channel (~9"x~6.5") where it can be directed to any of 3 exits at the right, rear, or left side of the toaster. If you take the shortest path to each exit, the cord will extend (from toaster edge to very tip of the power prongs) by 42" (right), 31" (left) and 33" (rear). Take off ~0.5" for the prong insertion length into the power socket. You can make the exposed cord shorter by going the long way around the rectangular channel before exiting, or also by doubling-back within the channel. The exit clips and the small retaining bars within the channel could stand to be a bit more snug, but if you're not mucking about with the toaster, they work fine to keep to cord in place.
