“One reviewer said he had to DRILL HOLES to mount side panels. Is that true?? Can I just stick this in 1st floor back window and use the side panels without drilling? We have an a/c in there now with panels, makeshift wood supports on bottom -- that be ok?”

Mine fit perfectly without drilling holes.

You're correct, to secure the side panels in place, you would need to drill with a 1/8" drill bit to drill pilot holes and then use the supplied screws to secure the panels. This information can be found on page 11 Section 4C of your installation instructions. We would not recommend using older side panels with a new unit. New side panels will be included with the unit upon delivery. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
