QuestionI am confused the product specifications state product width as 19" and the Minimum Window Opening Width as 25". The inside width of my window is 22.5". Will this air conditioner fit and work with my window? Thank you

- Answer First thing is I am not an appliance installation person. Best answer would be how do you want to install it. The unit is 19 inches wide but it has 2 expandable side curtains. With both those side curtains, on the minimum is 25 inches. The instructions do state "the air conditioner can be installed without the side curtain panels if needed to fit in a narrow window". Perhaps watching an installation video would show you what these curtains are and if you need them. They block the space not occupied by the unit. Perhaps you only only need one curtain because you will only have 3 inches of open space to block. Per the instructions though you don't have to use them. I did watch the install video even though my install is nothing like they show it did answer some of my questions too.

- Answer Maximum width with panels fully extended is just over 36.5 inches (36 5/8 inches to be exact).

QuestionWhat are the noise levels on low, medium, and high cooling?

- Answer It is within reason. I would not call this AC silent by any means but it is much quieter then other units I have owned before. Fortunately the sound is also mainly from the air being pushed through the AC Unit which is different then the sound of the AC unit running.

QuestionThe specs say “window mounting kit” included. Does that mean the brackets needed to support the AC in the window, or do I need to purchase brackets separately?

- Answer If you mean a support bracket on the outside, then that is a separate purchase. The "window mounting kit" included with the AC is a support bracket across the top of the AC and butting up to the window, the side brackets - accordion expansion panels - one on each side, and some foam insulation strips. If your window sill is wide, as in a house with 2x6 walls or an old house, then you may not need to buy the support bracket. Or you may need it, it depends on the installation window

Questioni just got this not even 2 months ago and it has. a red light on for filter ? what does this mean? do i have to change a filter on this already or do i have to unscrew something to take a fliter out and clean it?

- Answer Hello, you have to wash Filters and dry it, I have the same air conditioning and I do not expect the red light to come out, wash it every time you can!

- Answer The GE air conditioners do not cool the house the way GE says. Very disappointed with the product, would not recommend to anyone to buy a GE product.

- Answer No. The red light (I think) means there's power to the unit or the wifi is connected.

- Answer Yes, that width is ok. You need 15 height. The included side panels will help weather proof the window opening. The installation materials, also include a very nice pair of foam panels to enhance the insulation, and weather proofing of the side panels

- Answer Hi Phil - Thanks for choosing GE! This model has a control panel lights on/off feature where its lights will turn off when there is no activity with the controls for over one minute. To wake up the controls, press any pad on the controls and the lights will come on to show the previous settings. To turn this feature off, press and hold the SLEEP pad, on the unit, for 5 seconds. The unit will beep to signal the successful toggle of the feature on and off. QuestionWhy does the filter light keep coming on? I took the filter out. There was barely anything on it. But I cleaned it anyway and reinstalled it. It STILL blinks at me. Then sometimes it stops.

- Answer Hi Mau123, thanks for reaching out! If you've cleaned the filter, and pressed the Filter pad to reset it, and the light is still coming on, try to reset the internal electronics of the unit by disconnecting power for a few minutes and then restoring power. If the power cord has a current interrupter device, press the TEST button and then the RESET button while it is still plugged into the outlet. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

- Answer Your window will support the unit, but you will need to put something between the unit and the ledge. I use a couple of 2x4x3 stacked on top of each other it helps to keep it balanced.
