Hey there, and thanks for reaching out to us about this concern. We regret any trouble you’ve had with cleaning the griddle – we know that must have caused inconvenience, and we’d like to assist. We recommend cleaning the cast-iron griddle with a stiff brush and hot water, then rinse with hot water and dry thoroughly. We don’t recommend using soap, and you should avoid using any harsh detergent as that will remove the seasoning. After you’ve rinsed the griddle, you should preseason it by applying a light coating of cooking oil to the surface; wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel. We also recommend storing the griddle in a cool, dry place. Additional details regarding the cleaning and maintenance of the griddle are listed on page 25 of the manual, in the Care and Cleaning section. You can view that manual on our GE website by looking up the model number, if you wish. We hope this information is helpful, and you’re able to clean the griddle to your satisfaction. If you have any other concerns or inquiries, we are happy to offer assistance any time. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Great question! In fact I have not used my griddle yet, however my suggestion is use a good cleaning product that works on grease. I use products that are healthy environment but get the job done. Try to clean right away after griddle cool.
