Hi Ajblack - Thanks for choosing GE! The power cord of this gas range has a three-prong (grounding) plug (120V) which plugs into a standard three-prong grounding wall receptacle to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance. To ensure the performance and safety of the range, we do not recommend reusing the power cord from the previous range. We’d love to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
