A:AnswerDoes not have a clock and oven timer. There are no digital controls on this range at all. You turn it on with a knob... no digital parts to burn out in a year costing as much as a new range to fix. This is why I bought this range. There is however, no way to tell when the range is preheated to the desired temp. There is an "oven heating" light that never goes out as long as the range is on. In my mind this light should go out when the range has reached the desired temp. Before digital controls to tell you when the oven is at the desired temp, ranges were equipped with this type of preheat system. I contacted GE about this and they were no help at all. Customer service person I spoke with was quoting the owners manual to me...I can read...I ended up buying a thermometer to put inside the oven, and I need to check it frequently to see if the oven is at the temp I need in order to cook something. The last 2 ranges (digital) I purchased were both American made (Whi******l) and only lasted a couple of years before some of the digital components failed. The cost to replace the parts was 3/4 of the way to purchasing a new range, so I bought this one with no digital controls...except this one has its own problems. I have decided that American made products are built to fail in a couple of years. They are basically junk. Id be pleasantly surprised if this one lasted longer. On top of the preheat issues with this range, I waited over 4 weeks for it to arrive (without a range to use in the mean time) since this was a special order. Something tells me it was assembled after lunch on a Friday afternoon. Don't waste your money. Buy something that is not made in America. I try to buy American, but I think I have reached my breaking point.
A:AnswerHi lady5423- Thanks for viewing GE Model JGB450DEKWW! On models without a preheat light, allow 15-20 minutes for the gas oven to preheat. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue
A:AnswerHi there! Thanks for reaching out with these great questions. The racks included with this range cannot be left in the oven while it self-cleans. However, if the grates do not have rubber bottoms you can place them in the oven during the self-clean cycle. We appreciate you considering GE Appliances for your home. -Gina@GEA
