All electric appliances sold in USA have been designed to work with 208/240 V and 220 V is within that range. Electric coils have been designed for maximum voltage of 240 V. Nominal Wattage mentioned in the specs is when connected to 240 V only. What you have to keep in mind is due to law of Ohm, the lower the voltage , the lower the wattage. So when connected to 208 V you lose 25% of Wattage and when connected to 220 V you lose 15%. Manufactures unfortunately do not make special coils for 208/220 V for very large number of reasons. Primary reason is new 2010 edition of NEC (National Electric Code) and fire safety. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There will not be any problem as I also have 220 voltage and have not had any problem.
