A:AnswerHello Bakermom - Thank you for reaching out about your range. We are happy to help. Trivection used a combination of thermal, convection, and microwave cooking. True European convection does cook faster than traditional ovens. However, it does not use microwave heating. We suggest taking a look at our Advantium ovens for this sort of technology that allows speed cooking. Thanks. - JB

A:AnswerHi Katy- Thanks for choosing GE! The small amount of smoke and odor that is emitted from a new range (both gas and electric) on its initial use is normal. This is usually caused by the tape used in the oven for shipping purposes or residue of non toxic materials used in manufacturing of the oven insulation. We suggest to run a self-clean cycle and use a ventilation fan or open a window to ventilate the room.
