• Hi Lakecat - Thanks for considering GE Model JS645SLSS! We can certainly understand your concern having a cat around. The control panel can be locked by simply holding the Lock Controls pad for 3 seconds. Also, in order to bake, you would need to firmly press the Bake pad, enter temperature using the number pads, then press Start pad. We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

• They might, but you can lock the pad there is a button to do it.
