If you not use the convection cycle, the fan will not run
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Chad, You can switch between the two while you are baking. However, when using Conventional Bake feature then changing to Convection Bake, the temperature display may drop substantially. The is normal because the convection fan comes on and will begin circulating the air (i.e. hotter areas of the cavity with colder areas of the cavity). As a result, it will take some time for the air flow temperature to even out within the cavity and again reach the selected temperature. So, we would not recommend switching the baking modes while you are in the middle of cooking something due to the change in temperature it causes within the oven cavity. If you would like more information on both types of baking, you can click on this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17673 We hope that this helped! -MS
