Boil over should not be a problem. The burners are raised almost ¾ of an inch. Any liquid boil over would have to fill the whole area around all five burners at least ¾ of an inch deep before it spilled anywhere—unless of course your pan rim was beyond the stove top. See the photos. My thumb width is just over ¾”, my two fingers are 1.5”.

Hello Bo3bG - Thank you for your interest in GE Appliances. The cooktop could almost never contain enough liquid to spill over the sides of the range. The liquid would first seep under the burners and drip onto the insulation retainer covering the oven. However, spills into this area are extremely rare. The embosses around the front and rear burners are conjoined and together they create a volume large enough to contain even the worst boil-over. We don’t measure or report this volume for any of our ranges. Keep in touch! - John
